NEW SHARED SPACE PROJECT
Year Four children will be taking part in an exciting new Shared Spaces project with Blade Education to unlock the social history secrets of the North Road Burial Ground in Prittlewell.
They will help compile an online archive of photographs, audio recordings, artwork and official information about the people – including many war dead - who were laid to rest.
The children will also produce Heritage and Nature Trail boards interpreting the history of some of the people together with the biodiversity of the site.
The Shared Spaces project aims to preserve the stories of some of the 8,945 people buried in the cemetery, with the help of both the younger and older generations of Southend residents. The children will be visiting the Burial Site in order to learn about history, create art and study biodiversity. Issues around bereavement will be handled sensitively.
To begin the project there are two surveys – one for parents, one for children. If you have time to complete a survey please click on the link below.

At the end of last term The Westborough School pupils and parents were invited to take part in a survey designed to give a snapshot of life at school from both perspectives.
The results of the survey together with all the comments made will be a valuable tool for the Senior Management Team and Governors.
